East Anglia Double Appointment

New team to boost business funding in the East with sights set on new office

The UK’s largest independent invoice finance provider, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has appointed Paul Coase and Simon Boddy as Business Development Managers to increase its funding support to businesses in East Anglia.

Paul joins the team from Qixpay Limited, following six years selling online merchant services to businesses across the UK. He has experience of selling to businesses with turnover of £1 million to £50 million and will be responsible for lending in Peterborough, Norwich, Ipswich and Colchester, among other areas.

Paul said: “BFS has a great brand and an appetite to lend so this is a really exciting opportunity to be part of a new and growing team.

“Since joining in May, it has become apparent what a forward thinking organisation BFS is and I’m delighted I made the decision to come here.”

Joining Paul is Simon Boddy who returns to BFS following nine years at Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance. Simon has over 14 years’ experience of invoice finance and asset based lending and says that the new team will enable businesses in the region to flourish and grow. He said: “There are a number of extremely innovative, growing enterprises in East Anglia so this is a great opportunity for us to boost the level of funding support we provide.”

Simon will also have a specific focus on businesses in Lincolnshire.

A recent BFS study of 1,000 businesses in East Anglia found that more than two thirds (68 per cent) are expecting their businesses to grow over the next three months. Regional Sales Director for Bibby Financial Services in East Anglia, David Webb said: “There’s certainly more positivity in the market at the moment which is translating into economic growth at a national level.

“Regionally, businesses in East Anglia are leaner and more efficient than ever. There are areas within the region growing at significant pace with both investment and recruitment rising.

“We’re currently providing upwards of £27 million in funding to businesses in the region and areas such as Silicone Fen, Peterborough, Ipswich and Norwich are all significant targets for us in 2014 and beyond.

“I’m delighted to have Paul and Simon on board. Both are proven deal-makers with a similar work ethic. Undoubtedly, their experience and commitment will help to put Bibby Financial Services firmly on the map in East Anglia.”
